Coso enthusiasts relax after hiking through excellent exposures of the bone-bearing Pliocene Coso Formation. The vertebrate remains weather out in the upper part of the Coso Formation, in strata 4.8 to 3.0 million years old. Please note: Photograph taken prior to inclusion of the Coso Formation in the Coso Range Wilderness.
