On-Site At The Prida Formation Fossil Locality, Nevada

An ammonoid hunter explores the famous Middle Triassic Prida Formation in Nevada; the view here is slightly north of west. The fossiliferous unit is poorly exposed here, but minor gullies that dissect the isolated hill often hold promise. Here, the fossil enthusiast explores typical black, ammonoid-bearing Prida limestones exposed in a narrow dry wash near the primary Prida locality in the distance.
