Bull Run Basin Fossil Insect And Plant Locality

A paleobotany and paleoentomology prospector at Bull Run Basin, Nevada, examines a piece of shale from the upper Eocene Chicken Creek Formation; it bears several insect insect larvae that resemble similar types sometimes observed in the Eocene Green River Formation of Wyoming, eastern Utah, and Colorado. The locality yields insect larvae and conifer winged seeds.
