Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park, Nye County, Nevada

A vintage 1971 photograph, taken by a relative of mine, of the bas-relief model of Nevada's state fossil displayed at the Visitors' Quarry parking area, Shonisaurus popularis--all 57 feet of it, one of the largest ichthyosaurs ever discovered--the huge fish-lizard preserved in stone at Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park in Nye County, Nevada (then known as Ichthyosaur Paleontologic State Monument).
